Medical Sales Executive

Our client is a diagnostics company that develops, manufactures, and markets fully-integrated systems and tests for genetic analysis in the clinical, industrial and biothreat markets.
The Medical Sales Executive will be responsible for managing and growing business in existing and new accounts, to also work closely with field technical specialists to develop sales strategies. You will drive a highly complex hospital sale from introduction of new screening and diagnostic concept through closure and implementation. Working closely with physicians, laboratory, infection control, QA as well as executive staff to develop needs, gain consensus and close new business quickly. This is a stand alone sales role, focusing on developing new business sales throughout Scotland and Northern Ireland, therefore a tenacious, self motivated and experienced Sales professional is required. You will focus on selling diagnostic software, services and products to a mixture of NHS and PCT’s as well as private practices. You will sell into testing laboratories, ITU heads and hospital management.
Ideal candidates will have 2-5 years experience in hospital or clinical laboratory markets, (experience with PCR would be a bonus) and must be able to demonstrate a strong track record of sales success, specifically in selling premium products. Experience with demand creation and multi-departmental hospital sales is also desirable, as are good relationship building and networking skills. Deal sizes range from £2k to half a million, with an average sales cycle of 6months. Candidates should have a strong industry background, ideally having started their career in a laboratory based role, before moving into a Medical Sales role with a background in microbiology/biochemistry, infection or prevention
