Ellis Fairbank is an award-winning Search and Selection company who partner a number of the UK’s leading electrical product manufacturers to identify the best people in the market, not only those who are on the market.
Our client is one of the most respected names in the electrical industry who has supplied the market with a range of electrical products for over fifty years. Based in the South East of England, the company continues to supply the market through national, regional and independent wholesalers.
Working closely with the Sales Director, who has in excess of thirty years experience in the industry, the company is very well positioned to increase market share and strategically grow through recruitment, product development and front-line sales.
Reporting into the Sales Director and ultimately the Board, the appointed person will have responsibility for managing a sales team, consisting of 10 Area Sales Managers, who are strategically located throughout the UK.
Currently operating on a turnover of c£10m per annum, the forecast is to drive the business to c£20m in the next three to five years.
The main responsibilities of the National Sales Manager include:
- Managing the field sales team to increase market share through the wholesale distribution channels
- Key account management of Buying Groups
- Forecasting and Budget Planning
- Business development through networking and existing contacts
- Maximising sales revenue and optimising profitability
- Reducing operating costs, where possible
As the head office is based in the South East, you will be expected to attend sales and strategy meetings when requested. The company itself is based on simplicity and there will not be meetings for meeting sake, or unreasonable reporting requests.
The National Sales Manager’s role has been created to manage the sales team, to increase productivity and ultimately increase profit.
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have demonstrable experience of managing a team of field sales professionals who promote a range of products through electrical distributors. Current relationships and a strong understanding of the Buying Groups would be an advantage.
Coming from the industry, you will have a strong understanding of the market, coupled with business acumen and the drive and determination to move the business forward.
