PRIME CAPABILITY AREA: Defence Analysis

DESCRIPTION:

Ø An operational analyst with a broad range of experience in defence analysis techniques and knowledge of all warfare domains, particularly the land domain. The successful applicant will work with a number of projects providing advice and practical support on analysis covering all defence lines of development


RESPONSIBILITIES SHALL INCLUDE:

Ø Preparation of Operational Analysis plans for projects suited to the needs, resources and timescales of the project and its customers.

Ø Conduct Operational Analysis in support of project objectives

Ø Contribute to the selection, development and use of analysis methods, tools and techniques.

Ø Support Synthetic Environment based Concept Development and Experimentation in the design of experiments, choice of measures of merit, and use of scenarios, doctrine and Concepts of Operation

Ø Reporting of Analysis results using written reports and presentations.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Ø Good written and presentation skills

Ø Liaison and ability to communicate effectively at meetings with customer


Ø Broad knowledge of Operational Analysis methods, tools and techniques

Ø A good knowledge of the land domain and other military domains, including familiarity with UK doctrine, Conops, fielded systems and possible future systems.

Ø Understanding of MoD requirements and processes for conducting OA for COEIAs and Business Cases,

Ø Understanding of the DPA’s CADMID cycle and Smart Acquisition processes

Ø Understanding of Network Enabled Warfare and Effects Based Operations

Ø Understanding of MOD’s Defence Lines of Development

Ø Proposal writing experience

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

Ø Project Management of Operational Analysis projects

Ø Experience of using dynamic simulations

Ø Investment appraisal and analysis

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

Ø Excellent written and verbal communication/presentational skills

Ø Self motivated individual able to work alone or as part of team

Ø Flexible attitude and ability to quickly respond to changing situations

Ø PC literate: As a minimum Microsoft packages

Ø Educated as a minimum to either Degree or equivalent level

Ø At least 5 years experience in Operational Analysis
