Our Client is a multi- national food logistics & facilities provider & using aircraft is a key part of their operations in order to meet customer requirements.
Seeking an Operations Controller – Inbound Air Cargo & Procurement for their Aviation Business Unit. The position is based at our clients Regional Service Centre in Dubai.
Reporting into the Commercial Director you will lead the staffing, operations, & delivery of inbound aviation programs across all programs.
Providing management direction & policy determination for all inbound Aviation & AC procurement for all regions, interfacing with major aircraft service providers, & deal with specialized Aviation problems as they relate to the region, customer, local government & unexpected technical issues.
Specifically you will research & analyse customer’s specific needs to determine optimum & cost effective air transportation method & aircraft (AC) type.
You will evaluate flight activities & provide reports on current status of safety, training, maintenance & record keeping.
Provide technical representations on behalf of chief stakeholders during acquisition, recovery, disposal & repair of AC & provide market research & aircraft appraisal on behalf of chief stakeholders.
Prepare with other departments the generation of inbound bids & proposals, develop business rationale for aircraft investment & divestments & provide intelligence on industry trends, airline strategy, & competitor tactics.
In respect of procurement you will lead the sourcing process including: Identify and analyze part families, resource complex parts. Develop market baskets, supplier selection, bid, negotiate, & develop new sources. Supplier development includes first article management, part qualification, flight safety, and strategic sourcing based upon best value, delivery performance & quality requirements.
You will conduct research, supplier evaluations, & price/capability testing to garner market intelligence for the use in value added solicitation or negotiation processes.
You will need to be accomplished aviation & procurement professional with a thorough understanding of Commercial Aviation Industry.
You should have expert knowledge of aircraft leasing or finance & supply chain management experience & a sound understanding of aerospace supplier management, strategic sourcing & business development practices & procedures.
Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC / IT literate, particularly in Excel, Access, spreadsheets & SAP.
Salary & annual profit sharing bonus paid in US Dollars & tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Holiday entitlement is 5 weeks plus public holidays. Ex-Pats receive health insurance & 1 paid return economy flight per year. Mobilization & De-Mobilization flights paid by our client.
