ESSENTIAL SKILLS
5 years' experience in a line management function, preferably within the Electricity Transmission & Distribution Industry.
Project and Contract Management experience essential.
Knowledge of CDM Regulations / Current H&S legislation & Risk Management processes
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, particularly negotiating skills essential
Experienced in purchasing and tendering procedures.
Good knowledge of Commercial/Contractual issues, inclusive of claim resolution
IT Literacy (MS Office including MS Project etc)
Fully conversant in current Transmission & Distribution standards & technologies
Degree level/ HND in Engineering related subject
Knowledge of primary and secondary electrical design requirements desirable.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
10 years experience in the management of multi-discipline engineering projects with site management experience
Diploma / Masters in management related subject
ROLE INFORMATION
You will manage the operational performance of the project delivery teams to achieve or better business area margin & targets, resource manage and plan the recruitment and development of the project delivery staff required to deliver existing and future projects and actively initiate and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve business area performance and profitability.
Reporting to the associated Business Manager and working closely with the Business Area Finance & Commercial Manager you will budget, forecast and deliver the financial targets of the business, decide the estimating, procurement and delivery strategy and targets on all projects, disputes and continuous improvement measures and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors in the selection, tendering and delivery phases of the project.
You will be responsible for business results through financial target setting and projection, resource management, staff development and customer relations. You will also be involved in Tendering, Procurement & Supplier Management and managing processes and systems
