Oracle Software Development Manager

This is, initially, a one year fixed term contract, reporting to the VP IT and working closely with the IT Services Manager as part of the IT leadership team. You will take responsibility for team management of a small UK based Oracle development team, providing supervision and guidance as well as managing system delivery and change activity with the company's outsourced hosting partner.
Responsible for managing business critical systems, maintaining and enhancing the current systems and looking at future options for the development of systems; this company's new business management systems portfolio has recently moved from development into a production status and the demands of the IT function by the business in respect of these systems are changing to meet their evolving needs.
Significant experience of delivering Oracle business management systems in complex multi-location organisations is key; able to define, establish and manage systems development and support processes for significant custom built applications. Along with knowledge of Oracle technologies and their use (Application Server, Forms & Reports, Database technologies, BI/Discoverer), due to the complex interactions of the core custom business system with Oracle Financials (11i), knowledge of the basics of PO, AR, AP and GL within Oracle Financials and, in particular, data interfaces to and from external applications is desirable.
Strong people management skills are also needed; able to lead and manage software development staff in a service orientated environment, also able to work with other functions within the business, good interpersonal, diplomacy and analysis skills are required along with strong attention to detail, ensuring processes are followed and quality documentation produced.
