Overall Subsea & Pipelines Manager – Major Projects
With an impressive portfolio of projects at the development and production stages across the globe the Subsea and Pipelines arm of this major independent operator is responsible for delivering a world class service on time and to an exceptional technical standard.
The Overall Subsea and Pipelines Manager for Major Projects will lead all basis of design, engineering, construction, commissioning and start-up activities for the delivery of all pipeline and subsea systems for 3 new-build DTU/TLP units off the North West coast of Australia valued at US$60bn. With an estimated timeline of 5-6 years before completion of the first project phase this project forms a key component of my client’s long term upstream strategy, providing them with a reliable source of reserves for the next 50 years.
As the Technical Authority for Subsea and Pipeline Systems the successful applicant will have extensive knowledge of SURF equipment, infield pipelines, export flowlines and integrated subsea structures.
The role will be responsible for:
• Delivery of all subsea and pipeline systems for a major LNG development.
• HSE: Foster and develop the overall safety culture.
• Develop the subsea and pipelines team into a high performing execution team
Business Environment
This major project comprises of three fields located off the north-west coast of Western Australia approximately 400km offshore. Water depths are between 500 and 1200m and extreme cyclonic weather and the long wave phenomena will require significant developments in terms of subsea technology. This will involve the development of 1,500km of trunk lines, 370km of 42”export flowline and associated umbilical/riser systems.

• Multiple major international contracts
Responsibilities
• Project management to deliver the subsea and pipeline components of this mega project.
• Deliver a Basis of Design and all FEED engineering activities.
• Select contracting strategy to support BU objectives
• Enable long lead procurement including linepipe RFQ, pipe coating RFQ and pipelay ITT
• Negotiate pipeline contracts
• Approve overall development schedule to RFSU and Class 3 estimate.
• HSE: Develop the companies safety culture to promote a Step Change for Safety
• Develop the subsea and pipelines team into a high performing execution team,
• Approve the Design (BOD) for the subsea systems, infield / interfield flowlines and export pipelines for RFSU.
• Prepare subsea & pipeline engineering scope of work for FEED contracts.
