Partner / Director (Birmingham)
Birmingham - Midlands (West)
Our client is a specialist Building Services design consultancy with a network of offices throughout the UK.
They need a new Partner / Director for their Birmingham office in order to develop the practice’s profile in the area and to grow the business.
The five primary areas of responsibility and accountability in the role are outlined below:
1. The strategic development of the Birmingham office over the next 4-5 years.
2. Client liaison and business development including the management of key clients.
3. Operational Management (with the existing Partner) of the Birmingham office and overseeing the technical design on certain key projects.
4. Financial, technical and commercial performance of projects with a collective responsibility for the financial performance of the Birmingham business.
5. A member of the Board, contributing to national strategy and development.
The Partner will have / will ideally be:
• A Chartered Engineer (electrical or mechanical) and a member of a recognised institution (MCIBSE etc)
• A proven track record of working within a successful consultancy business
• Established client relationships within the Midlands region and the ability to readily develop and seek out new client
• A wide range of experience in a number of different sectors
• Able to bring a modern approach to building services design and be up to speed on current environmental and sustainability issues and concepts
• A proven track record in developing and delivering successful projects and contributing to multi-disciplinary projects
• A demonstrable ability for team building and team development working and building relationships, both internally and externally
• Capable of contributing to business strategy and be comfortable at Board level within the business but also with clients
• An ability to delegate, but not abdicate responsibility to other key team members
