Payments Business Consultant (SEPA, TARGET II, etc)

My customer is a global systems integration and consultancy firm who are very well respected as an IT Service Provider. This role sits within their ‘Market Solutions' division, which is much more focused on providing business solutions. They have recently established their ‘Payments Centre of Excellence' and now have 6 people in the team. As an organisation they already have a strong presence in the payments domain and offer many different business services for corporates. They have strong ambitions in this area and want to grow the COE to 20 people by the end of 2008. The role is split into 3 parts, depending on where peoples strengths are the ratios will be different: 60% of the role is on customer engagements, 20% is Internal development of the practice (coming up with ideas, building and developing propositions and getting involved in thought leadership activities) and the remaining 20% is Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and Sales, this means that the Payments Business Consultant will be proactive in terms of spotting new opportunities within their customer organisations and they will accompany a Sales or Client Manager / Director as a Subject Matter Expert on Client meetings / Bids. Most likely match is somebody that currently works for an End user in the Treasury department, somebody from a bank or payments service provider (PSP) or somebody who works for a consultancy organisation already.
