Personal Tax Manager

McGinnis Loy Associates are working with a highly regarded regional Accountancy Firm who are currently looking for a Personal Tax Manager to join their expanding team. Reporting to one of the Tax partners and supervising a small team, the role would ideally suit an ACA, ACCA, ATT or CTA Qualified Tax specialist who can assist the firm with all aspects of personal tax compliance. Helping clients to comply with their taxation filings and payment obligations, you will be required to demonstrate strong UK Tax knowledge and provide advice to clients within agreed service times and quality levels. Other key duties include:

• Building a rapport with individual clients and developing a clear and detailed understanding of the business and client expectations
• Meeting client demands, keeping them up to date with progress
• Providing partners with up to date WIP analysis, progressing work to completion/billing point swiftly
• Writing high quality tax reports, professionally presented documents requiring minimal input from directors or partners
• Working with the Tax Partner regarding planning and performing tax consultancy assignments
• Preparing and filing ruling requests on behalf of clients
• Acting as a first point of contact on specific projects for queries from the business.
• Working effectively with all members of the team and reviewing tax work performed by junior staff members
• Managing a team of staff including appraisals and training
• Ensuring bills are raised and costs are collected on a timely basis.

To be considered for the position you should be a Qualified ATT, CTA, ACA or ACCA Accountant within another Accounting Firm as experience in a similar position is essential. You should be able to demonstrate an awareness of Tax technical risks through well supported research, ensure compliance with internal procedures and ideally have a portfolio of personal tax clients already. With excellent team working skills you should be able to supervise junior members of the Tax team, work well under pressure yet still deliver assignments on time and budget.
