PLANNING DIRECTOR

Duties/Responsibilities:

To lead and manage the planning team within a busy multi-disciplinary office.

The candidate should have proven experience in mainstream planning consultancy dealing with the promotion of all types of development proposals through the planning system, from initial site appraisals to advice on planning strategy, the coordination, submission and negotiation of planning applications and appeals, development plan representations and expert witness.
The candidate needs to be able to demonstrate experience in residential, commercial, retail and leisure development fields and should have strong work wining and business development capabilities and an established client base .
Ideally, the candidate should have retail planning experience with a thorough understanding of quantitative assessment methodology.
The candidate will need to guide and manage an existing team of planning consultants, and take responsibility for the financial control of projects and the planning team

Qualifications and Essential Skills:

Qualifications: Educated to degree standard and preferably with a town Planning or surveying degree. Must be either MRTPI or MRICS.

Experience: Should have at least ten years experience in Planning consultancy ideally operating in the Manchester area or the North West
