Principal Consultant – Programme Management

Rate: £60K to £80K (Permanent) + Bens, pension, Relocation, ongoing CPD,

Principal Consultant – Programme Management

PRIME CAPABILITY AREA: Programme Management

RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of Capabilities / Programme Executive

RESPONSIBILITIES SHALL INCLUDE:
Ø To manage allocated programmes and bids within government, or Nuclear business areas.
Ø To establish and maintain Customer relationships and grow Customer satisfaction.
Ø Generating and controlling project plans and costs.
Ø To lead Programme Risk analysis and mitigation planning activities.
Ø To act as the primary customer interface for the allocated programmes and studies.
Ø To manage programmes portfolio ensuring adherence to cost, schedule and technical requirements with a clear appreciation of budgets.
Ø To ensure that risk is appropriately managed including the generation, execution and closenet of risk mitigation plans.
Ø To support Bid and Sales/Marketing support activity to facilitate the winning of new business.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Ø Prince2 Practitioner
Ø Must have worked in a programme management environment for a minimum of 5 years
Ø Experience and high degree of competence with IT systems and programme management and risk tools.
Ø Detailed understanding of project management, procedures and processes
Ø Ability to communicate effectively at meetings with customer
Ø Understanding of the Systems Engineering Lifecycle
Ø Knowledge of how systems interrelate and interconnect

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
Ø Excellent written and verbal communication/presentational skills
Ø Good problem solving skills, logical approach towards planning
Ø Self motivated individual able to work alone or as part of team
Ø PC literate: As a minimum Microsoft packages
Ø Educated as a minimum to either Degree or equivalent level
