Principal Investigator (PI), Senior Clinical Research Physician, required by innovative Early Phase drug development services company (CRO).
JOB TITLE

BACKGROUND
You'll be working for a specialist early phase clinical development organisation performing Phase I and Phase IIa clinical studies at their state-of-the-art clinical research facilities. As Principal Investigator (PI) you will act as the Lead Medic on assigned Early Phase Clinical Trials.
ROLE
You will act as Principal Investigator (PI) for selected studies. The PI is responsible for all aspects of the study relating to the health and welfare of the volunteers and clinical rationale. This will include (but is not limited to):
Study design (particularly risk benefit ratio, inclusion/exclusion criteria, requirements for safety assessments, scientific validity)
Participation in safety review meetings with the sponsor
To carry out study specific informed consent.
Volunteer/Patient Screening
To ensure the volunteers' health and welfare takes priority
To take medical responsibility for the everyday running of the studies allocated to him or her, and to liaise regularly with members of the relevant study teams.
To collaborate with the Business Development Department (e.g. carry out study feasibility checks, engage in preliminary project discussions with clients and maintain key client relations)
To teach and train internal staff in emergency procedures and other medical-related subjects as the need arises

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
GMC Registered Medical Doctor
2 years + General Professional Training (GPT) in approved training posts
2 years + experience in Clinical Research
Postgraduate scientific qualification (e.g. Dip Pharm Med, PhD, MRCP etc.)
ALS (Advanced Life Saving) certified
