Principal Piping Engineer

Our client is a leading global engineering, construction and facilities management services company supporting the energy, petrochemicals, government services and civil infrastructure sectors. The company is a leader in many of the growing end-markets it serves.

They have recently opened an office up in Lagos, Nigeria in response to current and future work opportunities. They are currently looking for a Principal Piping Engineer who wishes to work in Nigeria. Our client will be offering assignments from the UK for periods of up to 3 years.

The Role:

As a Principal Piping Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Developing highly complex conceptual designs
• Coordinate the design of facilities, systems, and equipment related to disciplines (i.e.
structural, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and mapping) under a minimum amount of
supervision.

You will provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers and you will be consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on your scientific interpretations and advice.

As the lead, you will plan, budget, organize, coordinate and control piping projects and will be responsible for employee performance appraisals and for coaching and developing lower level professionals.

Knowledge and Skills:

An accomplished Piping Engineer, your experience being supported by a degree in Engineering & ideally with some Professional qualifications.

You should have upstream oil and gas design experience and have experience in structural design and mapping.

You should possess a thorough working knowledge of AutoCAD 2000i and the Rebis design packages.

You must have the ability to work in dual units (English and SI) and have a working knowledge of GIS and ESRI ArcView software for mapping.

You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Contracts will be awarded up to a maximum of 3 years duration. Salaries will be negotiable depending upon the successful candidate’s experience and skill set. An Ex-Pats package will be available and it is envisaged that the leave rota will be 8 weeks on and 2 weeks off.
