Principal Piping Engineer

Our client is a leading global engineering, construction & services company supporting the energy, petrochemicals, government services & civil infrastructure sectors. The company is a leader in many of the growing end-markets it serves, particularly gas monetization, having designed & constructed, alone or with joint venture partners, more than half of the world's operating liquefied natural gas (LNG) production capacity over the past 30 years.

Our Client is seeking a Principal Piping Engineer to work on major engineering projects.

You will be responsible for the design, specification and services related to piping systems & piping layout incl piping material selection, piping material line classes, standard & specialty piping components, pressure, weight & thermal analysis of piping systems, vibration analysis & piping support systems.

Under general supervision, you will independently apply advanced engineering techniques, make decisions on engineering problems & methods, & represent the organisation in conferences to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers & officials of other organisations.

You will provide technical guidance to designers & less experienced engineers & consulted extensively by associates & others with a high degree of reliance placed on your scientific interpretations & advice.

You may also be responsible for leadership of a functional area on a small to medium project or a segment of a larger project. As the lead, plans, budgets, organises, coordinates & controls the project & is responsible for employee performance appraisals & for coaching & developing lower level professionals.

You should be an accomplished Piping Engineer, your experience being supported by a Degree / HND / HNC in Engineering & ideally with some Professional qualifications.

At this level, you will be expected to have demonstrated creativity, foresight, & good engineering judgment in anticipating & solving engineering problems efficiently & economically.

The role requires the use of advanced techniques & modification & extension of theories, precepts, & practices of the field & related disciplines. It is likely the successful candidate will have contributed to inventions, patents, & new designs or techniques which are regarded as major advances, or which significantly reduce professional services hours on projects.

You should possess a thorough working knowledge of AutoCAD 2000i and the Rebis design packages.

You must have the ability to work in dual units (English and SI) and have a working knowledge of GIS and ESRI ArcView software for mapping.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence & proficient in Microsoft Office.
