Process Engineering Manager - NPI

Rate: €70K to €80K (Permanent) + 15% bonus and competitive benefits

ROLE - Senior/Staff Process Engineer (NPI) - reporting to Global Head of NPI Engineering, based in USA - and responsible for complex process and manufacturing engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality and delivery improvements in order to support a manufacturing organization and introduction of new businesses.

Evaluate proposed design and processes for manufacturability.
Provide guidance on manufacturing improvement and cost reduction activities.
Evaluate existing volume production requirements and ascertain requirements and costing for product transfers and new product introductions.
Apply engineering expertise to development and planning of product transfers from high cost to low cost manufacturing regions.
Lead and drive specific project or business initiatives in supporting Industrial Global strategy.
Interface with production on all activities associated with new process or product implementation and transfers.
Lead and manage cost improvement/reduction programs.

PERSON SPEC - higher weighting more important
10 - Previous Industrial Engineering experience - layouts, flows, capital speccing, methods, capability planning, manpower planning, etc - across a variety of manufacturing processes - especially sheet metal, plastics, and electro-mechanical assembly
10 -Excellent project management skills, experience, and ideally some formal training.
10 - BSc Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent
10 - Solid mix of mechanical manufacturing process (especially sheet metal stampings, plastics) , tooling, and product development.
10 - Excellent communication skills and ability to proactively develop and drive initiatives. Ability to communicate/demonstrate/present technical expertise/information/data to internal and external customers and executive management.
10 - Demonstrable experience with Lean manufacturing techniques
10 - Previous experience of electro-mechanical system integration.
10 - Understand Product Life Cycle process for New Production Introduction.
10 - Have experience in transferring products from high cost manufacturing regions into low cost manufacturing regions.
9 - Ideally Autocad, SolidWorks and/or ProE proficiency.
9 - Ideally Product Life Cycle process experience with NPI into low cost manufacturing regions
9 - Ideally Six Sigma knowledge and experience.
10 - Personality humbly confident, mature self-starter, practical, hands-on, good advisor/coach, influential, accountable, results- and process-driven, multi-tasker, compliant , resilient
10 - Well versed in all MS Office applications.
8 -Fluent English a must, with other European languages a distinct advantage
8 - Able to support 50+% international travel.
