Product Development Manager/Engineering Director

Our client is a leading Embedded Software company, part of a large International blue chip company.
Job Title:Product Development Manager
Department:Products
Reporting To:Managing Director
Primary Purpose of Role
Responsible for on time development of all standard product.
Responsible for product roadmaps and identifying new product opportunities
Key Performance Indicators
•Monthly and quarterly reporting of development status and possible issues.
•No QA related discrepancies
•On time development milestones
•IT reporting
Main Duties
•Assist with Management of Cambridge, UK activities
•Manage the Product Development Teams (Engineering, Test, Marketing)
•Manage IT resources
•Control Product Development Budget
•Define and agree new product development strategy
•Develop, test and prepare for production all new standard product
•Assist Operations where required
•Co-ordinate with Director of Business Development and Tier 1 Sales for Standard Product
•Negotiate Contract conditions and final acceptance of contracts for standard product
•Represent at Trade shows
•Represent at Sales meetings
•Co-ordinate Product Marketing and PR requirements
•Assist with preparation of Strategy, including:
•Measurement and monitoring of STRAP objectives.
•Proposing new STRAP initiatives.
Qualifications/Experience Required
•A degree in Science or Engineering.
•Experience of managing a team of people
•Experience of developing hardware or software
•A mature, professional attitude
•Good communication skills
