Product Development Manager

Our client is looking for a Product Development Manager to take responsibility for budget development and on time development of all standard products and to be responsible for product roadmaps and identifying new product opportunities.

ROLE:

• Assist with Management of UK activities

• Manage the Product Development Teams (Engineering, Test, Marketing)

• Manage product development department budget including staff, capital, projects etc.

• Define both short-term and long-term product development strategy for products

• Represent at Trade shows

• Co-ordinate Product Marketing requirements

• Provide Engineering estimates and bid/proposal support to Sales

• Support the definition of Cambridge product strategies

• Support key customer opportunities

• Manage the full product life-cycle for all products developed

• Manage the transition of products to the Contract Manufacturer

• Responsible for setting and evaluation of individual Engineering team goals and objectives

REQUIREMENTS:

• A degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent

• Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams

• Proven experience in radar, video and graphics

• Experience of developing complex board level hardware products for use in harsh/military/aerospace environments

• Experience in developing complex embedded software products

• Military/aerospace or COTS background

• Proven ability to successfully manage costs and schedule

• Good communication skills
