Production Manager - Electronics

My client is an electronic manufacturing company with a track record of technical innovation going back many years and an enviable reputation for quality, speed of delivery and customer support. They have grown consistently, even through the recession, and have ambitious plans for the future.

As part of this expansion they now require a Manufacturing Manager to take responsibly for products from order, through production into delivery and support. Working closely with project managers and design teams, the Manufacturing Manager will decide whether to manufacture items in-house or to use external suppliers and will constantly drive the production facility towards being a world-class manufacturing capability. He or she will provide leadership to a small but highly skilled team and will drive both innovation and production efficiency.

Likely to be degree qualified, the successful candidate will have a strong background in electronic manufacturing, ideally in a low volume high value environment. He or she will be experienced in developing effective manufacturing processes and continuous improvement strategies and will understand how to build an efficient manufacturing unit. As there is considerable client exposure, candidates will need the ability to deal face to face with customers and ideally have experience of supporting bidding activity.
