My client is an internationally renowned telecoms manufacturer working at the forefront of a wide range of technologies and employing over 10,000 people worldwide. They have a substantial order book that will see them continue to expand over the coming years and this has created demand for a key individual who will be instrumental in ensuring that the company continues its impressive growth and maintains its position in the market.
As Programme Director you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle from requirements capture, through design and manufacture into systems integration. As a key member of the senior team you will engage directly with customers and be instrumental in developing new business with clients as well as ensuring that my client's product roadmap is in line with customer strategies.
You will provide leadership to a team of over one hundred engineers and be responsible for ensuring that they perform to a world-class standard, driving forward process and business improvements to ensure that your division is profitable and that programmes are delivered on time and to specification.
The successful candidate will be a qualified engineer with several years experience of leading complex, high value systems engineering or development programmes. You may already be working in the telecoms sector or you may be working in a similar high technology environment such as defence or avionics. Either way you will have a good grasp of P&L and be used to delivering against challenging targets. Above all you will have the leadership skills required to inspire and manage a large team of high calibre engineers.
