Excellent opportunity for experienced Purchasing Manager to join leading FMCG company.

Superb opportunity to build team and add value.

You will have worked within an FMCG large company environment and bring superb supplier relationship and people management skills.

Main accountabilities:

1. Source suppliers who can meet technical, supply and price specifications for raw and packaging materials. Develop when appropriate long-term supply contracts with suppliers to support continuity and availability.
2. Ensure the suppliers meet all statutory and industry and best practice guidelines re H&S, environment, customer and government legislation.
3. Develop medium and long term strategies to utilise new technologies; sources of materials and process improvements.
4. To represent the Purchasing Team in Group strategic, planning and innovation initiatives.
5. To develop an effective purchasing team on own site and in satellite locations: commercial aware; self reliant and fit to run day to day activities using the principles of lean manufacturing
6. Champion the identification and delivery of cost-out opportunities within the materials and packaging areas
7. Work with local supply chain team to ensure their adherence to Group Purchasing Standards and to champion achievement of group targets on Inventory Levels.
8. Champion the effective use of ORACLE within the buying and supply chain environment
9. To identify and develop plans to address training and development needs across the purchasing team.
