Due to expansion, this leading market research agency is looking for a Research Director to “share the load” in a successful online research team. You will be primarily involved in online, consumer, market research so need to have some experience and a real interest in this area (although you will also lead non-online work). You need to have quantitative skills and, because of the large number of multi-country studies undertaken, international experience. Business development skills are a must.

You will contribute as a key member of the online research team to achieve the continuing growth of the company. There are a number of aspects to the job:
A first dimension is managing client accounts. You will have ultimate responsibility for the quality of service provided and business developed on allocated accounts; for the provision of internal consultancy and sign off (as appropriate) on research design, proposal and debrief content; and the provision of a senior presence (gravitas) at key client interface situations.

You will add value to the client experience in NPD and research; decide on the identification of business risk and development opportunities within accounts and the implementation of appropriate solutions; and promotion of all the company’s proprietary methodologies to all potential customers within accounts. You will deliver an agreed value of business from existing and new clients in line with overhead recovery and net profitability targets.
You will secondly, also be involved in new client development. You will lead and support the online team, adding experience and gravitas to their business development efforts. This will include the generation of new business through warm leads generated by the company and from other personal contacts; the generation of new business through cold leads as appropriate; and the generation of warm leads through promoting awareness of the company amongst potential clients and contacts.
A third aspect is the management, leadership and development of Associate Directors (who lead account teams) and other Senior Research staff, as appropriate.

Salary will be in the range ca. £50 – 70K depending on work background and experience with a car allowance of £4K, bonus, relocation support where appropriate, and an attractive range of benefits. The company is situated in a very attractive market town.
