Teamwork and talent are the key elements to the culture and it is recognised that it is people who galvanise success and drive the business forward at all levels.This position will be responsible for developing and driving the sales strategy of the Retail/DIY sector, optimising sales within current accounts and developing new sales opportunities in order to drive the development and growth of the business. A new role, this will be an integral part of the Executive team. Key responsibilities are many and varied, including devising and delivering a successful Retail/DIY sales strategy in conjunction with the CEO and the Executive team, identifying and developing a compelling vision of the Group’s future potential as regards sales in these channels and designing and implementing a successful sales team structure for the Group to achieve results, successfully and proactively leading and managing change where necessary. In conjunction with the CEO you will take responsibility for nurturing key accounts and Business Development initiatives at a strategic level, you will define and implement a brand development strategy for the various brands across the Group to build consumer awareness, while minimising channel conflict and have accountability for managing and driving the financial results through sales, in conjunction with the Finance Director. Bristan is a meritocracy, and with a focus on succession, the Retail Sales Director will actively develop key managers within the sales team to deliver the strategy ensuring their key skills are developed and successors identified.
Of graduate calibre, the successful candidate will have significant senior sales management experience, possess a track record of designing and delivering successful sales strategies, be able to demonstrate sales growth in previous roles, have experience of managing large and diverse teams of sales professionals and proven experience of managing change within a sales function. You will make a strong first impression, speak credibly and knowledgeably across a range of business issues as well as sales related issues, and have the ability to adapt your style to suit the environment. You will be personable and charismatic with the ability to gain trust of others and attain agreement for change. Inspiring and enthusing others with your positive and energetic approach, the individual who fulfils this role will be ambitious, results driven, an entrepreneurial and commercial thinker.
