SALES DIRECTOR
UK Merchant Channel

Our client is a major International Group with a stable of high profile brands and an unrivalled Customer Service and after sales resource. We seek a Sales Director to take full responsibility for a small but expanding division which manufactures a range of Branded Domestic Appliances which are distributed through Independent and National Merchants.
The Sales Director will be responsible for developing the sales and market share of the entire product range, achieving the agreed budget in terms of volume, value and margin.

Key responsibilities will include: -
• Manage and develop a team of area sales managers.
• Responsibility for revenue and margins of finished goods sales plus close liaison with the commercial team in the spares area
• Part of the senior management team and expected to make a significant contribution in the strategic development of the business
• Lead business development into new sectors e.g. contracts/social housing, new national accounts, holiday home market
• Responsibility for sales budget and forward forecasting on a monthly basis
• Management of issues involving the sales team and the back-office support team namely:
a) Credit control, credit limits and new account opening
b) Returns
c) Sales order processing
d) Stock control
e) Service
• Continue and complete the distribution plan already in place for a newly launched range with national merchants and regional independents
• Contribute to the NPI process for new product launches with information about market developments and competitor products
• Oversee the introduction of the new CRM reporting

Experience required:
• Be a national sales manager or equivalent looking for their first sales director role or an existing sales director in a small business or business unit within a larger group
• Have technical sales experience
• Have had demonstrable success in growing sales and margins in their previous roles
• Be willing to split their time between customer facing and time in head office in the North of England- in the first 6-12 months, it is anticipated that 1-2 days per week will be spent at head office working with the back-office support areas
• Have high levels of energy, ambition, commitment and flexibility to be part of a business that has a lot in common with a start-up
