Senior Business Development Manager
East Midlands - Midlands (East)
A leading UK contractor which employs over 10,000 people, with a national network of service centres and a combined business turnover in excess of £400m, requires a Senior Business Development Manager to join the sales team.
The main purpose of the Senior Business Development Manager is to proactively develop new business that meets profit and service objectives within the appointed business stream in accordance with the company policies and procedures and to be an integral part of the business development team.
The key responsibilities for the Senior Business Development Manager include:
- Develop, agree and maintain a detailed sales plan in line with company marketing and sales plan objectives
- Contribute to company plan by meeting own performance objectives
- Work with Sales & Marketing Director to develop specific corporate objectives in line with business plan
- Approval of business plan by Sales & Marketing Director
- Shows clear understanding of own targets and responsibilities
- Manage the area’s financial and business performance to meet agreed targets
- Operate the company’s risk framework to identify and manage the required outcome of potential risks and opportunities.
- Provide accurate and punctual monthly reports
- Prioritise resources to optimise sales values and profit levels and reduce operating costs within the area
- Meet pre-set targets for achieving sales target
- Full use of company costing model for every tender
- Use of approved and preferred suppliers to maximise value and cost benefits
- Submit accurate tenders and reports within agreed time-scales to the required standard
- Satisfactory application of ‘risk framework’ process
- Proactively identify, understand and target key market sectors and client prospects within designated territory
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and company procedures
- Full utilisation of in-house IT systems; adapt quickly to new systems
