Senior Buyer - Motoring Accessories

My client is a a very well known market leading retailer, they are currently going through extensive growth and expansion and are currently looking to strengthen their team. They are an incredibly ambitious company and have plans for continued growth in the UK. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and sourcing product ranges which deliver profit and sales targets and which deliver the proposition and category briefs.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and develop a profitable and commercial product range
- Negotiate and monitor terms with suppliers
- Drive cost down within supply base
- Maintain sales and profit according to budget
- Run and review reports to facilitate SKU selection
- Negotiate promotion funding with vendors
- Anticipate the impact of future changes to the range
- Discuss areas of strength and weakness with vendors and develop new ideas based on sales history and future trends.
- Monitor activities of major competitors in terms of price, quality, sourcing, commitment with vendors, store displays and promotional activity.
- Maximise product choice through detailed knowledge of the consumer and supply base.
- Ensure overseas sources are stable and delivery secure.
Applicants will need to have strong retail buying experience ideally gained within a related category. You will have strong negotiation and communication skills and ideally be educated to degree standard, or equivalent, with excellent interpersonal skills. This company have a policy of giving staff a lot of autonomy in their roles and as such need people who are not only happy with but seek that kind of responsibility.
