This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the biggest and well respected brands in the world. The key to the role is owning the commercial relationship between this retailer and the record labels. The role requires a mix of partnership building and strong negotiation skills.
Responsibilities for the role include, negotiation of all aspects of the commercial relationship with studios and other partners - including quarterly new releases, planning and annual terms negotiations. Initiation and management of projects and promotions to achieve short and long term business objectives. Liaising with the various others areas of the UK business such as supply chain and marketing, while having contact with the wider international business to drive projects and share best practice.
The role will also involve being the central point of contact for studios for all issues, from accounting through to operational problems, and also communication and negotiation with internal and external parties, whilst accurately tracking and delivering against tight deadlines.
Applicants must have a strong professional buying background preferably in the music industry, although applicants with blue chip FMCG retail experience and a passion for music would also be considered. You must have a track record of success in past roles with significant commercial negotiation experience and strong project management skills, with experience influencing, leading and working in cross-functional teams.
Applicants must also have the ability to think strategically and tactically, with excellent attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are also required and applicants must be educated to degree level or equivalent and be naturally analytical.
