Senior Finance Manager
Surrey - South East
Investment Management company is looking for a Senior Finance Manager to join the Property Team.
The Company own a number of properties in the UK, Continental Europe, and Japan and the Property Finance Team manage all finance-related activities relating to these properties: this is an opportunity to work for a global privately owned firm investing large amounts of capital in a very diverse property portfolio.
Job Description
You will focus on financial control and reporting for these properties, having an important role in the success of the property investments. The position is technically demanding and extremely varied.
• Liaise and develop strong relationships with external property managers across Continental Europe
• Responsible for ensuring needs of key stakeholders are met, including those from the US company, Other Investors (responsible for leadership of non-financial services investments), Company Investors (non-financial services investments) and Real Estate (advisor on Property investments)
• Liaise with the Finance team in India (4 people) for day to day accounting and production of management accounts – you are responsible for adding business commentary, forecasts and management reports to the data, preparing and reviewing budgets
• Co-ordinate with the Central Finance team for complex consolidated reporting
• Deliver a smooth year-end process, particularly the relationship with external auditors
• Ensure property acquisition processes are efficiently completed
• Manage complex finance tasks around business restructuring, acquisition, tax and similar
• Some travel for business meetings to London, Surrey, and Continental Europe
Experience and Qualifications
• Good academic education to degree-level and a Chartered Accountant ACA / ACCA
• Good experience working in an International company with Property finance experience
• Good IFRS / multiple European country GAAP
• Used to producing management information / financial reporting; aware of current accounting issues
• Strong financial accounting and controls. Experience with business valuations and due-diligence beneficial
• Good attention to detail, planning and time management: prioritising detailed requirements with the bigger picture with regard to financial transactions
• Strong interpersonal and written / oral English business communication, used to influencing to a senior level and building relationships with key stakeholders
• A resilient questioning approach; ability to spot, investigate and explain irregularities
• Proactive flexible style, interested in an environment that changes regularly
• French language skills would be an advantage but not necessary
