Senior Oracle DBA
City of London - London
Senior Oracle DBA with extensive, general operational Oracle DBA experience in both a OLTP and batch processing environment. You will be responsible for the Oracle Technology Stack from installation, configuration, patching to backup and recovery and cloning.
Essential:
* At least 5 years hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA with at least 1 year experience of working on 10g.
* Ability to analyse complex problems, interpret operational needs and develop integrated and creative solutions
* Experience of working within large scale projects (e.g. using PRINCE2) and within I.T. Department service procedure (e.g. ITIL)
* In-depth experience of scripting languages (UNIX Shell, PERL etc.)
* Effective communicator at all levels
* Team player; supportive and collaborative
* Ability to take ownership and self manage
* Ability to understand business processes
* Ability to engage directly with end users and interpret there needs into technical solutions
* Good organisational skills
* Standards & QA exposure
* Excellent documentation skills
* Oracle Certified Professional for 9i / 10g
Desirable:
* Experience of working with Oracle on Red Hat Linux
* Experience of Oracle Enterprise Manager and Applications Management Pack
* Experience of working with Oracle based data replication
* Experience working within marketing and/or retail sectors
* Experience of PRINCE2 and ITIL methodologies
* Oracle Certified Developer
