Our client is currently looking for a Manager to ensure that the accounts of the group are prepared and associated activities such as tax compliance are undertaken in an accurate and timely manner and that they comply with accounting standards. To play a co-coordinating role in the processes of financial planning and forecasting, ensuring the information is properly captured and profit and loss account and balance sheet related items are reconciled. To manage the development of a team of three to four people, some part qualified and some fully qualified.
Key Accountabilities:
The accuracy of the financial statements presented to the boards of the group each period, in terms of compliance with standards as well as arithmetical accuracy;
Ensure tax compliance and that the HMRC requirements are comprehensively met;
Corresponding with Finance Managers in various parts of the business to ensure that the financial information is accurate and sufficient and to explain the variances and trends in accounts;
Maintain relations with the Group’s auditors;
Training other Finance staff in those aspects of accounting standards they require to perform their duties effectively;
Managing the maintenance and reconciliation of the CFO Tracker;
Supporting upgrades in software by reviewing processes and implementing required changes;
Lead the central finance team.
Essential
• Member of a recognised accountancy body, eg CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS.
• Staff management
• In depth knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Working knowledge of UK tax law and how to apply it.
Desirable
• Knowledge of US GAAP.
• Previous experience as a Reporting Accountant in industry or in a department within a firm of Accountants which supports clients in the preparation of accounts or tax.
