Senior Sales Executive (IT Solutions into Banking)

Our client is a leading IT solutions and services group providing software, consultancy and managed services. The Banking Division is currently seeking an experienced Sales Executive to bring in new name business from financial institutions.
You will be responsible for generating sales revenue in the following ways:
• Winning new named business through direct sales initiatives
• Locating new projects and budget in Tier 1 and 2 Financial Institutions
• Cold calling new clients to identify potential prospects both in conjunction with lead generation programmes and within the assigned territory
• Create a strong pipeline of deals in the areas of Payments, Accounting and Derivatives
• Working with our channel sales partners to win joint opportunities
• Acting as a thought leader for the sector within the organisation, identifying industry wide issues and driving solution campaigns
The key areas of focus will be:
• Accounting – subledger and accounting rules solutions
• Derivatives – pricing, control and treasury solutions
• Payments – multi-channel payments solutions
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
• An exceptional and demonstrable track record of successfully selling new business technology or technology related consulting into the financial market.
• Consistent overachievement against targets
• Previous sales experience at a similar level and role
• A broad network of contacts from across prospective clients
• A background from a banking application vendor

The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge:
• Commercially astute – a business thinker, able to relate to and communicate with all levels of management including Chief Executives, Finance Directors and IT Directors.
• A deep and broad understanding of the Finance Sector
• Understanding of the key business and technology trends for this year and the pain points within all finance sectors.
• Understanding of Value Added Solutions

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
• Persuasive and a natural influencer
• Think rapidly in front of investment banking clients
• Capable of engaging clients to unearth issues and identify opportunities
• Deal closer – maximising the opportunity – creating win/win deals for the company and our clients
• Able to identify realistic opportunities, qualify them quickly and pursue them effectively
• Strong presence and creates good first impressions
