Background to the Role
As head of the SEO team, you will play a pivotal role in creating and developing this side of the business on all fronts. As part of this you will be expected to develop and maintain SEO best practices and processes together with supporting the over-arching strategy for delivering class leading search services.
Responsibilities
As a department head, you will be responsible for the recruitment, development, motivation and retention of a scalable team, able to facilitate delivery of SEO.
Reporting to and managing internal stakeholders, providing support in client presentations and helping with new business proposals
Deliver all SEO solutions
Create best practice and processes for each product delivered by the SEO team
Build out SEO tools and systems and to produce scalable processes that allow for delivery of full search services
Provide training and support to your team on best practice, processes and use of tools and systems.
Provide assistance with all aspects of SEO (leading by example)
Requirements
Experience of managing an SEO team is essential
Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
Highly technical knowledge of all aspects of SEO including keyword research, competitor analysis, site audits & optimisation and all off-site promotion
Knowledge of website management tools, including CMS systems
Knowledge of spider based technologies
Knowledge of Site Analytics solutions such as Google Analytics and WebTrends
Excellent knowledge in industry standard web languages
