This is a role for an ambitious individual who wants to work in a start-up and have responsibility for bringing a new enterprise software product to market.
This UK software company has developed breakthrough technology that enables major organisations to have a radically enhanced view and control of information and business transactions. No other company in the world has technology that comes close in functionality and capability.
They are looking for an experienced Java software engineer to build their first commercial release product and this therefore represents a great career opportunity for the right candidate to have a huge influence on the product and company.
The Role
You will be responsible for leading the development of the first commercial release of the product. Working closely with the founder, you will take leadership in setting up the development environment, establishing standards and development methodologies then leading the design and coding of the product. For the right candidate there is the potential to then recruit and lead a development team.
This is a role that will offer significant challenges as you will have significant authority and autonomy to turn what is currently world-class technology into a world-class product. As the company evolves, there will be ample opportunity to develop your career and experience in a number of different directions.
The Successful Candidate must have:
• Hands-on skills in Java, developing SQL database access from Java (using hibernate or JPA persistence packages)
The following additional skills would be an advantage
• SQL, Junit, Ant, XML, Web Services.
• Substantial proven hands-on experience in developing commercial-grade, enterprise scale software products (analysis, design, development, & test).
• Relevant hands-on technical design and coding experience with a record of strong individual technical achievement.
• Degree level Education.
You must be a UK / EU National or already be resident in the UK and have a current Work Permit.
