Solicitor, Commercial Litigation
Near Buxted, East Sussex - South East
Our client is one of the South East’s most rapidly developing legal services firms, with several offices in East Sussex. They are a very modern, dynamic and forward-thinking firm in every way, in terms of their culture, their work practices and their offices.
They are currently recruiting for a Solicitor, ideally with significant PQE to join their Commercial Litigation Department. This position would involve assisting the Head of Department in implementing the Commercial Litigation Department Strategy by maximising the department’s profitability whilst providing high-quality client care standards to develop and expand the workload of the team. They are seeking a high calibre solicitor who will be keen and able to take part in our management development programme at the appropriate time, which may lead to associate and ultimately partner status for the right candidate.
Knowledge and Experience:
• Commercial Litigation transactions and fluency with procedural requirements.
• Experience of managing a substantial workload and delegating tasks, where appropriate, to more junior staff.
• A good grounding in contract, property and leasehold law and ideally significant experience in one or more of these areas
• Post-qualified experience would prove an advantage.

• Able to identify priorities within a complex and demanding workload and sustain consistent quality performance when under pressure
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) as the role will involve a high degree of contact with clients and other professionals
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Confident in own abilities and self motivated
• Fluency in a major European Language ie French or German
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Providing legal, technical and practical skills to the highest quality on Commercial Litigation transactions handled (e.g. contractual and financial claims; construction; leasehold disputes; insolvency, including acting for office-holders; intellectual property claims; property & property related claims; ‘white collar crime’ including driving offences, health & safety, town planning and environmental)
• Becoming fluent and proficient with, and engaging in the Department’s day to day work; the case management system and other software applications. Supervision support and training will be provided
