SQL Database Administrator

The SQL/IIS DBA Support Team needs a new person to work as part of a 3-member team, to assist in the continuing maintenance of the IIS and SQL Servers
The Job:

•Managing security updates and patches to SQL/IIS Servers
•Managing the day to day backups of all SQL/IIS Servers
•Managing developed applications throughout the whole life cycle.
•Building and configuring of Microsoft SQL 2005 servers
•Performance tuning and optimisation
•SQL/IIS Server disaster recovery planning
•Setting up replication and log shipping for disaster recovery as well as real time applications.
•Ad-hoc SQL reporting
•Trouble shooting all SQL Server issues

The successful candidate - will demonstrate the following attributes:

•Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
•Ability to work as part of a small multi-function team and under own initiative.
•Ability to communicate within the IT Infrastructure department and with fellow colleagues at all levels.
•A high level of general IT literacy, knowledge of the following is essential:

- TCP/IP Networking
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005
- IIS 5/6
- .NET Framework
- Experience with SQL Server clustering technology and data replication

This role would suit someone who is technically skilled as they would need to advise other members of the team along with providing guidance to developers on SQL best practices.
