Strategic Marketing Manager
Dundee - Scotland
Strategic Marketing Manager - automotive systems technology - Dundee-based, but with frequent European travel - attractive base, bonuses, benefits, and career options
ROLE - Strategic Marketing Manager - reporting to Chief Operating Officer - and responsible for creating a strategic marketing capability around the 4Ps - product, price, promotion, and place. You will work with internal technology, operations, and commercial teams, to create, maintain, and improve a strategic marketing plan that will provide information on:-
•market needs - technology, products, and services
•market sizing, and hence target volumes
•pricing
•branding, packaging, etc
•promotional - web, literature, PR, advertising
•alternative channel/logistics models
•etc
You will validate your strategic proposals through rigorous external analysis
•Industry/market analysis, including market research
•Competitive intelligence and knowledge management
•Business development analysis
•etc
PERSON SPEC - higher weighting more important
•10 - Strong depth and breadth of pan-European strategic marketing experience, in technology products sector
•10 - Experience of developing and managing an effective marketing strategy/plan, with effective measures in place
•9 - Good understanding, and ideally marketing experience/contacts within client target sectors - automotive/rail products manufacturing, solar products, and medical products
•10 - Experience of working with strategic partners and external consultants/agencies - including setting up and managing service level agreements and performance contracts with external consultants/agencies
•10 - Analytical, capable of creating a cohesive overall plan from data supplied from difference sources, both internal and external - and ability to interpret and convert complex data into business intelligence
•10 - Previous experience in budget planning and control
•10 - Professional gravitas - good impact at all levels - professional and ethical
•10 - Excellent open communications style - verbal, written, and formal presentations - good listener
•10 - Strong team-player, who can work in different hierarchies, and get things done without delegated authority
•10 - Well organised multi-tasker, with good pragmatic problem-solving skills - some lean-sigma exposure would be an advantage
•10 - Personality - patiently results-driven, process-driven, persuasive, relationship builder, multi-tasker, flexible, detail-oriented
•9- Degree qualified, ideally in marketing or physical sciences - post-grad marketing qualification preferred (e.g. CIPR, CIM)
