Systems Administrator

My client, a market leader is recruiting for a Systems Administrator to provide server and application support to users, answer queries and troubleshoot IT problems and provide solutions. You must install, configure and maintain local IT hardware and software according to policies in place and identify the cause of hardware and software failures and provide corrective action to rectify the problem. The successful candidate will identify solutions which will reduce or eliminate the re-occurrence of hardware and software problems and ensure email and other communication systems are operating properly, efficiently and in accordance with corporate security and retention policies. You will answer queries and provide OS and Office application support to end users and you will also assist in the development of and adhere to standardised hardware and software installation and support procedures. The successful candidate will make suggestions for upgrades and timely replacement of hardware and software packages across the company and will ensure the backup tapes of key systems are changed and working appropriately. You will serve as backup to the Network Engineer for basic issue resolution and analysis and you will ensure IT issues are being assigned in a timely manner according to policies in place. You will build and maintain a team relationship within IT, collaborate with related internal departments and build and enhance relationships with all territories and suppliers. Key skills will include; MCSE qualified or equivalent qualification; attention to detail and high degree of accuracy in recording and reporting; oral and written communication; numerical analysis and reporting; proven track record in supporting Microsoft products in a networked environment; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; ability to interact with end users to successfully resolve queries and problems; ability to translate technical jargon into plain English and ability to work independently using own initiative. My clients systems and processes- Microsoft Exchange 2003, Microsoft Windows 2000/XP, Microsoft Office 2000/2003, Windows Server 2000/2003 and Active Directory.
