Tax Manager

McGinnis Loy Associates are working with a highly regarded Top10 UK Accountancy Firm who are currently looking for a Personal Tax Manager to join their expanding team. Reporting to one of the Tax partners, the role would ideally suit an ACA, ACCA, ATT or CTA Qualified Tax specialist who can assist the firm with all aspects of personal tax compliance for their UK & International client base in Berkshire and the Home Counties. Helping clients to comply with their taxation filings and payment obligations, you will be required to demonstrate strong UK Tax knowledge and provide advice to clients within agreed service times and quality levels. Other key duties include:

• Building a rapport with individual clients and developing a clear and detailed understanding of the business and client expectations
• Meeting client demands, keeping them up to date with progress
• Providing intelligent and creative solutions to client tax issues both reactively and proactively.
• Writing high quality tax reports, professionally presented documents requiring minimal input from directors or partners
• Responsible for planning and performing tax consultancy assignments
• Preparing and filing ruling requests on behalf of clients
• Acting as a first point of contact on specific projects for queries from the business.
• Working effectively with all members of the team, building the confidence and respect of peers and subordinates.
• Managing a team of staff on specific projects, and providing on the job training to executives.
• Ensuring bills are raised and costs are collected on a timely basis.

To be considered for the position you should be a Qualified ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA Accountant within another Top10 Accounting Firm as experience in a similar position is essential. You should be able to demonstrate an awareness of Tax technical risks through well supported research, ensure compliance with internal procedures and ideally have a portfolio of personal tax clients already. With excellent team working skills you should be able to supervise junior members of the Tax team, work well under pressure yet still deliver assignments on time and budget.
