Our client, a successful subsidiary of a widely known global group, manufactures and supplies an extensive range of technical solutions into the electricity transmission and distribution market, including the rapidly expanding renewable energy sector, in the UK and abroad. The company, which has an excellent reputation for quality, service and innovation, is seeking to appoint a high calibre Technical Director to support the ongoing growth of the business.
Leading a small team of professional engineers, this role will have responsibility for developing and delivering an engineering strategy in line with the company’s aims and objectives. Working with customers and international suppliers in conjunction with a number of internal departments, the emphasis of the role will be on identifying and satisfying meaningful market opportunities through the design, development and introduction of new and innovative product solutions.
Candidates, qualified to degree level in a relevant technical discipline (ideally electrical engineering) will have proven experience gained in a similar role in a technical product environment. Commercial acumen is particularly important for success in this role and candidates must be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering to market profitable new products through the implementation of best practice design/development tools and techniques.
