Technical Director- Structures

Our client has a particular expertise in high rise residential and commercial buildings and works in close liaison with their colleagues in the Middle East and New York. Due to an increasing workload the business unit needs to recruit a senior member of staff to carry out excellent service to their Clients and to maintain their reputation as one of the leading structural engineering businesses in the country.
The Role
The successful candidate is likely to be an existing Technical Director or an outstanding Associate Director. We are seeking candidates capable of taking a leading role in the management of the structural team and to support wider business unit initiatives. This role will focus on projects related to building structures associated with transportation, including but not limited to aviation, railways & stations and port & harbours.
Requirements
· BEng or MEng degree in relevant engineering discipline as a minimum standard, Achieved chartered status. You will demonstrate an ability to lead.
· Experience of managing large projects as the lead engineer is essential.
· Experience of winning work, people leadership and commercial management are essential, ideally supplemented by a particular technical specialism or sector focus.
· Good knowledge and ability to use desktop IT packages.
· Good reputation in the local market place, and a number of clients who respect their work and want to work with them, as well as a network of professional contacts is essential.
The candidate is expected to demonstrate excellence both, technically and in the delivery of projects. The candidate must have good inter-personal skills, with leadership & management abilities, capable of communicating effectively with clients and other members of the project team.
