A Technical Manager is required for a well known food business based in Suffolk. Reporting to the General Manager this is an exciting opportunity to help support the delivery of the business strategy by providing the appropriate level of technical expertise and ensuring that the company's technical integrity and standards are maintained at all times.
The Role:
Ensuring that food safety is assured through interpretation application and review of appropriate site policy and control mechanisms.
Providing direction and support to the Technical team, managing and facilitating staff performance, ensuring all staff are trained to and regularly audited against the quality standards to ensure compliance with systems.
Supporting the innovation process through collation and communication of technical ideas from head office and external contacts.
Manage the site HACCP plan and implementation
Dealing with customer complaints.
Supporting procurement ensuring that technical integrity of the procurement process is maintained.
Full control of departmental expenditure within budget.
The Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in chilled or frozen food manufacture and will ideally be Degree qualified in food science or equivalent.
HACCP advanced
Proven Internal/External BRC audit management experience
Excellent team leadership, outstanding communication skills and the ability to work cross functionally
The ability to provide technical support to the NPD function
The role is part of the Senior Management team and requires an individual who will be able to contribute fully to the continuous improvement of the company's performance.
