Technical Security Specialist - e-Commerce

My client is a growth-oriented financial services business, based in Southampton, Hampshire. We are looking to recruit a Technical Security Specialist – e-Commerce on a permanent basis.

Salary: £45k - £58k basic


Job Purpose & Key Result Areas
• Member of the Information Security team providing a range of security services to the Group’s UK companies
• When required and as directed, provide a security service to the other operating companies within the Group
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and good-practice security standards and guidelines
• Ensure that the security risks to the company’s infrastructure are minimised

Key Responsibilities
• Technology risk assessments
• Technical security design
• Technical review of policy exceptions
• Assists the Architecture team in defining security architecture standards
• Reviews / approves change management of security infrastructure
• Monitors security threats
• Reviews operational management processes / procedures
• Undertaking the role of e-Commerce security expert for one or more technology subject areas
• Ensure compliance by 3rd party IT partners


Skills & Knowledge
• Wealth of Information Security experience
• Requires CISSP/SSCP certification (or equivalent)
• Experience of dealing with 3rd party suppliers, both on and offshore
• Confident at delivery of presentations up to executive board level
• BS7799 / ISO 17799 / PCI DSS / ITIL
• Remote access solutions including IPSec and VPNs
• Intrusion detection and prevention systems
• First class understanding of network protocols
• Security within e-Commerce / B2B
• WiFi security
• Technical security architectural design
• Project planning and management
• Systems integration
• PKI
• Experience and use of security monitoring tools
• Risk analysis / assessment
• Knowledge and understanding of IDS / IPS
• Familiarity of systems integration
