Our IP team closely mirrors the overall global business structure having a regional focus that encourages a strong holistic, strategic approach to our work. We are seeking an experienced, energetic Trade Mark Manager to join our team that focuses on brands including Guinness and Baileys covering Europe (including Russia and the former Soviet Union), Africa and the Middle East.
We are seeking either a Trade Mark Attorney, dual qualified Attorney/Solicitor or a Solicitor with extensive international IP portfolio management experience. You will come from a ‘brand-rich’ environment where decisions are taken at a fast and furious pace and where your ability to prioritise and multi-task has been the key to your success to date.
London based but with a global remit, you will have responsibility for the enhancement and enforcement of Diageo’s IP Portfolio consisting of its trade mark, copyright, patent and trade secrets rights. You will manage a small, highly motivated team, delivering all aspects of trade mark prosecution and administration including filing applications, oppositions, registration, renewals, other disputes, etc. Handling the trade mark aspects of acquisitions and divestments, you will also draft and negotiate prosecution related contracts as well as other matters such as advertising sign-off and domain name issues.
Your infectious enthusiasm, adaptability and organisational skills will be second to none and these attributes will be essential as you lead and develop your team to achieve even greater levels of delivery and support. Establishing proactive counselling relationships with marketing, tax, strategy and other corporate personnel you will have the ability to give professionally robust advice in a positive and persuasive manner – this is not a role for someone who prefers to sit on the fence!
