Linux Systems Administrator - plus Solaris

Opportunity for an experienced Unix SA to join a small but busy business critical production environment within an international finance organisation. The technology is mixed with a range of Sun and Dell running Solaris and Red Hat Linux operating systems. The Unix Administration team are responsible for providing second and third line support for these servers and operating systems as well as some Unix based utilities and applications such as a third party batch scheduling tool.You must be skilled in the installation, upgrade, administration and maintenance of the following utilities/processes before starting to function in an administrative capacity with root user or equivalent access - DNS, NIS, LDAP, Sendmail, Veritas File System, Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas Cluster Services, Red Hat cluster services, LVM2, O/S Network configuration, EMC Power Path and other generic operating system file system utilities as supplied by O/S vendors. There will be an opportunity to gain exposure to a number of different operating systems and hardware and the role will extend from just a standard SA role. Therefore individuals must be accomplished Senior Unix Systems Administrators with the ability to learn new skills rapidly.
