4498 - Architectural Project Manager

We are working with an associate recruitment company who has offices in the UK, New Zealand, Australia and Ireland. Their New Zealand Office has a construction company client who is seeking an Architectural Project Manager. The position is permanent.
Our Clients client is a well-established residential contractor who has a strong reputation across New Zealand for delivering high end architectural designed homes. With the residential works in Christchurch ramping up they are now looking to expand their team in the Canterbury region. They are a national business of award winning homes up to 10m NZD.
Based in Christchurch you will be responsible for project managing the construction of multiple sites, liaising with the design team, clients, government offices, subcontractors and trades. You will be working closely with the business owners and you could be managing multiple projects at one time.
The role requires you to be able to work autonomously, make decisions, lead multiple sites, with clients and architects.

Knowledge and Skills:

Ideally you will be a practically minded Architectural Project Manager who has extensive experience in timber builds and potential hill side bills, a trade qualification is preferred or a construction management degree.
You should be able to manage complex builds, using cutting edge technology and have knowledge of building practices.
You should have a positive outlook and confident attitude and an eye for detail.
You will have excellent communication ability, a natural ability to lead and a well presented and client facing manner.
You will have excellent inter personal skills, in order to promote the company's core values and culture.
You will have a high level of initiative, problem solving and will be someone who pays attention to the detail and highly organised.
You will have excellent time management, analytical skills and organisation skills.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English, able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC literate with MS Office, e mail, the Internet.

There is a preference for New Zealand experience, but our client welcomes interest from international applicants looking to make New Zealand their home.
Candidates should show commitment of plans to relocate to New Zealand, for example they should have started the immigration process or have plans on being in New Zealand for face to face meetings.
Basic salary will be in a range of between 80,000 - 120,000 NZD per annum depending experience.
