5613 - Warehouse Team Manager

Our Client is a leading supplier to the foodservice sector in the UK, Ireland, France and Sweden. They are currently seeking Warehouse Team Managers to manage the dayshifts and back shifts for their new DC in Essex. The roles are permanent.
Our clients new Distribution Centre in Essex is progressing to plan and it is now our client's intention to begin recruiting for a number of positions that will play a key role in ensuring that the site is ready to go live during 2015.
The site which will have a 24 hour operational cycle will be of great significance to our clients overall distribution network once fully operational and it is therefore imperative that they have the right number of appropriately trained Warehouse Team Managers in place prior to the site going live.
Reporting into a Warehouse Shift Manager, the successful candidates will assist the Warehouse Shift Manager in the day to day management and planning of the dayshift and back shifts ensuring DC standards and targets are met.
Specifically you will meet daily performance targets and mitigating any impacts to these as necessary.
You will ensure compliance with Company policies and agreed best practice.
You will identify opportunities for greater efficiency within key business processes and making recommendations accordingly.
You will deputise for the Warehouse Shift Manager as necessary.
You will act as the first line management for people matters arising within your team.
You will manage a large team of warehouse people and will focus on areas such as absence management, recruitment and coaching.
You will recruit, train and develop your team.
You will monitor and improve key operational KPI's.
You will ensure all Health & Safety and Legal obligations are adhered to and in line with Company policies and procedures and will ensure Group H&S policy is implemented and adhered to.
You will promote good customer service.
Finally you will ensure there is effective communication cascade (two-way).

Knowledge and Skills:
To be successful in your application you will be an accomplished Warehouse Team Manager and will have extensive experience of managing within a fast moving warehouse environment, be passionate about people and be committed to delivering a truly outstanding customer experience.
You will need to demonstrate the ability to translate our Client's vision into how you and your warehouse team operate daily, as well as a hands on approach to succeed in a demanding environment.
This is a frontline role leading a large team of Warehouse and support staff and championing excellence, which requires significant warehouse supervisory / management experience ideally, though not essentially within a food distribution or retail environment.
