7140 - General Manager - Rental & Leasing Equipme

Our client is an Omani privately owned rental and leasing equipment company. As a result of the oil price rising and confidence for the future, they are currently seeking a General Manager capable of running a business unit.
This is a contract role issued on a 2 year renewable contract and is based in Muscat, the capital of Oman although there will be regular travel across the Omani interior.
Reporting into the CEO you will assume focal point responsibility for all day-to day matters across all functions of this rental and leasing equipment business unit and will take control, introduce and enforce policies and procedures and build trusting relationships with major customers.
Specifically, you will be responsible for the day to day activities of managing and co-ordinating all heavy equipment (cranes, forklifts, cargo trucks etc.) and operators to Oil and Gas services companies.
You will be responsible for the P and L of the business unit and in collaboration with the CEO and Board, you will set commercial business targets (including, but not limited to increased turnover and margin targets) and identify the means to achieve the targets.
You will represent the company with clients and potential clients and will maintain close relationships with key contacts, including the existing client base, contractors to large projects and other potential sources of business with a view to being informed of their future requirements.
You will prepare annual budgets and ensure their proper implementation.
You will build, in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer pricing models to determine margins and return on proposed investments to capture business.
You will respond quickly to any customer complaints and confirm corrective actions taken.
You will ensure the efficient and optimal utilisation of the Groups resources - Human, Capital and Financial.
You will maintain stringent HSE standards and will ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and any clients health and safety policies and procedures.
You will ensure the safety of all personnel and equipment within the Company.
You will ensure that all sub - contractors comply with the Company's health and safety procedures.
You will ensure proper cost control and maintenance of sound management information systems.
You will ensure the timely submission of reports and other important information to the Board.
You will ensure the setting of objectives and performance goals for the business and for key management personnel.
You will oversee the security of our client's assets and maintain the assets to the highest standards possible.
You will ensure staff training and development takes place, where appropriate.
You will represent the Company at major corporate events.
You will authorise external business communications.
Finally, you will encourage and gain commitment and ownership of the operation by all and implement operational efficiencies where appropriate.
