Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 plus 10% bonus + pension 5% + Car Allowance £5k

Newman Stewart are the retained executive search specialists acting for one of the largest confectionery manufacturers in the UK to recruit an outstanding Financial Controller. Recently acquired by an international family business due to their synergies in entrepreneurial spirit, philosophy and market leading expertise they are now ready to recruit this strategically important role.

The size and scope of the business is extraordinary. They employ 2000 employees across several sites in the UK manufacturing, 400 SKUs across 3 business models. They are undergoing a transformation process which is near complete.

Reporting into the CFO, as their Financial Controller you will be given 100% support and freedom to deliver the objectives agreed by the business. The FC will support the CFO and other C-board members of the operating board and finance team to improve systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities
·Ensuring reporting of all financial results to the CFO, Owners and Board
·Continuously challenging performance and recommending corrective actions to the CFO and ELT
·Provide strong and rigorous financial leadership for the business
·Lead the Central and group finance function and build levels of competency and efficiency

Key Experiences
·A qualified accountant - CIMA, ACCA or ACA
·Proven track record of success as a senior Finance Controller/Manager
·Experience within a central finance role (ideally food & drink) and an understanding of the inherent opportunities and challenges therein
·Strong leadership ability and proven experience of building competencies in a finance team
·Experience in senior financial management roles, working closely with and ability to influence senior executives
·Experience or M&A, post-acquisition change, ERP change and general restructuring would be beneficial but not essential.

The successful candidate will bring a fresh agenda to the central finance team, creating a step-change in the department; improving structure, systems and processes, whilst providing a real financial and strategic sounding board to the wider company. The candidate will be intelligent, analytical, and detail-oriented, with the gravitas to influence at all levels and build lasting relationships.
