Part of a European world-class engineering business, the company is the market leader in the manufacture and supply of precision capital equipment for use in a broad range of engineering and manufacturing industries. The Group employs around 1000 across Europe, has a turnover of €750million, and markets its products through both direct sales and distribution.
Their French operation, based in Paris, is a Sales, Service, Applications and Distribution business supplying capital machinery to customers throughout France via dedicated agents and distributors. Turnover is €75m with a team of 70 persons.
They are seeking to recruit a Managing Director to take full responsibility for the French operation. Reporting to the Group Managing Director Europe, this will be a hands-on role, requiring experience of both sales, commercial, managerial and technical aspects of capital equipment. Taking the lead in managing key customers, as well as the distributor network, the Managing Director will lead the company as it grows and develops its market presence further.
Ideally you will have had senior management level responsibility for sales and marketing in a capital equipment sales and service business, having a full understanding of the technical and engineering aspects of the products. You will need to be commercially astute, with a capacity for strategic vision and operational detail. You will be pragmatic, with diplomatic skills and the ability to work within a strong corporate culture.
The salary package includes substantial basic, bonus, full benefits and relocation assistance where required.
