Engineering / Technical Manager - Hertfordshire
Starting salary of £50k plus bonus, car, laptop, mobile, pension, life assurance, healthcare and 33 days holiday.
The Company
• Part of a large global manufacturing organisation and a market leader within the compressed air industry.
• The compressor and generator range includes oil-free and lubricated stationary air compressors, portable air compressors, gas and process compressors, electric power generators, compressed air treatment equipment and management systems. They are now seeking to appoint an experienced Engineering Manager.
The Role
• Contribute to the profitability of the business by leading the Design Team, organising the work of colleagues to design equipment to suit customer’s requirements.
• Provide Leadership and guidance to the mechanical and electrical design teams.
• Organise the workload and deploy contract design capacity in the most efficient and productive way.
• Mentor and develop personnel and conduct annual appraisals as routine practice.
• Oversee the production of engineering documentation required by customers.
• Assist with proposal installation drawings for inclusion in contract tender if required.
• Co-ordinate on a daily basis, work undertaken by sub-contractors.
• Design and check drawings for modifications to systems and initialise purchase of sub-supply items.
The Candidate
• Mechanical Engineering Degree.
• Autodesk AutoCAD 2D, Autodesk Inventor 3D experience, knowledge and practical experience of MS Office, Windows, Lotus Notes.
• Previous experience to demonstrate leadership and team working qualities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to co-operate with all departments and client’s engineers.
• Good standard of knowledge of the compressed air industry would be an advantage.
• Full UK driving licence.
